WELCOME
Welcome
on our website. We are the Model Trein Club Betuwe (short: MTCB) from Elst (gld.)
in the Netherlands. Elst is a village (about 16.000 inhabitants) between the
cities of Arnhem and Nijmegen. The history of our village begins during the
Roman Empire. Under the church of Elst still lies the remainings of een roman
temple. During de Second World War was Elst heavily damaged during operation
Market Garden. More information about Elst you can find on www.overbetuwe.nl
.
On
this website you find information over het MTCB. We have started in 2002 .We are
member of the Dutch Railway Federation for modelltrains, the Nederlandse
Modelspoor Federatie (NMF).
On
our website we show you the result of building on our own railway on a scale
1:160 (scale N). We built a part of the railway between Arnhem and Nijmegen near
Elst and
a part of the new Betuweroute , a railway for freighttrains
which is on service in 2007.
We
hope you enjoy your visit on our website and you will visit us more in the
future.
Our situation.
At
this moment we have built eleven modules containing the railway between Arnhem
and Nijmegen near our village Elst.
The total length is 11,50 meters.

Meanwhile
we have started building the Betuweroute, specially the Container Uitwissel Punt
(CUP) near de village of Valburg.
Unfortunately we had to leave our clubhouse in de spring of 2005. In the autumn 2006 we could start in our new home. You can see the pictures of this home here.
